Cascades Rock

Blake Herrington has created a book called Cascades Rock which is published and for sale this month. The book covers everything from popular roadside climbs to never-repeated alpine adventures. Blake's hope is to include every good rock-centric long climb in the range, at any grade and of any age. This includes driving, hiking, camping, descent, and gear information for each climb.

Ishmael - Old but Good

My daughter asked if I’d read it.
    “Ishmael?” I thought and there was the smallest germ of memory. “Is the story about a telepathic gorilla?”
     “Re-read it.” my daughter suggested. “It’s your kind of a book…the gorilla is also an environmentalist."

Backcountry Skiing - Book Review

I’ll come clean at the start, the three authors of Backcountry Skiing: Skills for Ski Touring and Ski Mountaineering, are acquaintances of mine. That means my praise of their book needs to be taken with some suspicion. That being said, I'll also say this is the best and most authoritative book on the market about backcountry skiing.
